Part 26, written by Choco Soong
______________
The plan takes action

Himitsu set up a small altar to trap the zombies. It was dangerous and one little mistake could kill the person who conjured it, but Himitsu took the risk.
‘Why didn’t you do that before?’ Yuri asked, startling her.
‘It’s dangerous and risky. It’s a very advanced spell and a mistake could kill me.’
Himitsu looked up into his eyes.
‘You look worried.’ She stated the obvious.
‘Sure. That’s because I am going to be fed alive to the zombies later.’
Yuri laughed humourlessly. Himitsu pursed her lips and continued with the altar.
‘Himitsu…’ Yuri said quietly.
‘Yes?’
‘I want to say Thank You.’
‘Why for?’ Himitsu asked, not looking at him.
‘For all this. You didn’t even know me, and yet you are going all out to help me.’
‘It’s not over yet.’ Himitsu felt her cheeks grow hot.
‘I just wanted to say it, before it was too late.’
Himitsu looked straight into Yuri’s eyes.
‘You can thank me after I save-’
Yuri wrapped his arms around her. Himitsu’s eyes enlarged.
‘Thanks.’ Yuri whispered. He detached his arms and turned his back on her.
Himitsu stood rooted on the spot. He hugged her… She wasn’t used to physical contact. Only the hyperactive Hikari and her mum had hugged her before.
She bit her lip and continued the spell. She felt confused.
‘Oi, is the altar done yet?’ Gump’s voice brought her back to real life.
‘Oh! Almost.’ Himitsu muttered the last part of the spell and snapped her fingers.
A small pale circle appeared on the floor.
‘Hey human! The altar’s ready.’ Gump walked away to get Yuri.
Yuri’s ears perked up. He was staring at the photo of his family and the photo of Himitsu in his phone. He fingered the photo of his family.
‘Hey! Yuri, get here! The Witch has the altar ready.’
Yuri nodded as he tucked the photo and phone away.
Himitsu swallowed nervously when she saw Yuri coming out.
‘You’ve got to stand in the middle of the circle. It should act like a cage when the zombies step within the circle.’
Yuri nodded again. He took a deep breath and stepped forward. Suddenly, Himitsu reached out to his hand.
‘Here.’ She passed him an enlarged pocket knife, not unlike the first one she gave him. ‘It’s enchanted, just like last time. Kill them if things get out of hand.’
‘Thank you.’ He said softly. Himitsu smiled sadly.
Gump cleared his throat, and both of them were pulled back to their senses.
