Okaeri: Part 15: Boundaries

Himitsu breaks some rules.

Once they jumped across, Himitsu started throwing spells calmly but swiftly, at the zombies. They seemed to be doing everything Yuri had expected them to do. Bodies on the floor. Blood on the floor. But there were still people alive.

A sigh of relief. He looked determinedly at the zombies.
‘Yuri, take the living away, through the square. Go.’

By doing that, Himitsu would be in big trouble. But desperate times called for desperate measures.

Yuri beckoned the people to jump into the square. Even though they were still hesitant, they went through.
‘Himitsu! I want to help!’ Yuri exclaimed.
‘No. Just go through the square!’ Himitsu said earnestly.

Himitsu was fighting off the Moriko-zombie. It seemed to be trying to bite Himitsu.

Yuri raced forward and knocked her off her feet. The fat lump fell down on her behind. The baby bared her teeth at them and launched itself at them.
‘Yuri! Get back into the Magical Realm!’ Himitsu exclaimed, throwing a spell at the baby zombie.
‘Not without you!’ Yuri yelled back. He had picked up a metal rod, probably owned by a Bosozoku* member formerly. He hit it at the baby and it gave out a squeal as it hit the wall.

She threw another spell at the Moriko-zombie, but before it hit it, the zombies vanished once again.

Himitsu cursed sourly. She mumbled something that sounded a lot like “Cowards…”
‘Not without me, huh? You are an idiot!’ Himitsu smirked at Yuri.
‘You just don’t know loyalty when you see it!’ Yuri said with squinted eyes.

Himitsu rolled her eyes. If she was glad with what Yuri said, she didn’t show it. She just put her leg through the square, followed by Yuri.

When they reached the Magical Realm, Himitsu saw someone she didn’t quite want to see at that moment.


*Bosozoku (暴走族:"violent running gang”) - A Japanese Subculture. These gangs are generally composed of people under the legal adult age and are subject to increasing state and police pressure. [Info from Wikipedia]
