‘It’s been a year now. He promised he’d come back to see us, right?’ Hikari asked Himitsu. ‘And what’s more, it’s your birthday!’
They were both sitting on her bed, playing around with Tarot Cards. It was some sort of birthday tradition the two of them cultivated through the years.
‘He didn’t promise. Anyway, he wouldn’t have found a way back. I mean, it’s not like he has a Teleportation Box.’
Hikari bit her lip. Himitsu stared at Hikari’s anxious face, presuming she didn’t know what Teleportation Boxes were.
‘You know, the sort of boxes where beings with no magical abilities, like humans, leprechauns and goblins, can use to get through their realm to ours? And vice versa?’
Hikari pursed her lips. Himitsu groaned.
‘Hikari! The ones the Leprechauns made because they wanted to teleport like us…?!’ Himitsu exclaimed, surprised that Hikari didn’t know what the boxes were.
Hikari grinned slightly.
‘No, no. I know what Teleportation Boxes are. It’s just that…’ She trailed off.
‘What, Hikari? Tell me now.’ Himitsu demanded.
‘I gave one to Yuri before he left. And I left instructions for him on how to use it.’ Hikari broke into a smile.
‘WHAT?! And you didn’t tell me?!’ Himitsu exclaimed incredulously.
‘And I also told him to come specifically today-’
‘WHAT?!’ Himitsu interrupted.
‘Well, it’s your birthday, and I wanted to surprise you!’ Hikari smirked.
Himitsu was about to throw a stack of cards at her when suddenly someone covered her eyes.
‘Guess who, Princess.’ A familiar voice filled the silent room.
Himitsu couldn’t help but smile.
