Okaeri part one: Welcome Home

'treasure everyone you love,
for nothing is eternal
treasure every moment you have,
for whats next cannot be foretold'
‘You going home already, Yu-kun?’ Yuri’s best friend from camp, Taiki asked.
‘Yep! I miss my baby sister, Yuki. Have you seen her? She’s adorable! Look, I’ve got a picture!’ Yuri grinned, digging into his bag for the photo of Yuki.

Sato Yuri was the son of big time, game industry boss, Sato Renjiro.

‘Aww… So cute… I want to pinch those beautiful cheeks!’ Mizuki squealed. She looked at the picture closely.
‘Careful, don’t touch it. I don’t finger marks all over Yuki-chan!’ Yuri laughed.

A group of girls were note far behind the trio. Taiki realized them.
‘Go on, do it,’ Taiki grinned. ‘for the road.’

Yuri laughed and looked at the groups of girl and winked. The girls squealed.
‘No fail; you make all the ladies scream, Yuri.’ Taiki stated.
‘Hey, what am I? A guy?’ Mizuki grinned.

Yuri laughed and looked out the gate. A black Chevy was coming.
‘My ride’s here.’ Yuri said, pointing at the snazzy car.
‘Ok… See you after summer!’ Mizuki said. They both gave him a big hug and waved.

Yuri threw his duffel bag into the shiny black car.
‘Hey, big guy!’ He greeted his father’s driver.
‘Hey… little guy.’ The big lug greeted robotically.

Yuri shook his head while grinning. He leaned down on the seat and closed his eyes.

After a few hours drive, the big lug stopped in front of the house. It was whole piece of land, with beautiful gardens and a vineyard behind the house. Right in the middle was a grand mansion with white walls and green rooftops. Vines grew on the walls artistically.
‘Yuri-san. We have reached the Sato mansion.’
‘Thank you, big guy!’ Yuri laughed. He grabbed his duffel bag and raced to the main gate. He pressed the doorbell repeatedly.

A melodic voice erupted from the little box. It was the maid.
‘Hello? Who is this?’ She asked. Yuri smiled.
‘It’s Yuri! Open up, Moriko-san!’ He exclaimed.

The gate opened slowly. Yuri whooped and ran into the house. Moriko was standing at the front door, arms stretched.
‘Welcome back, Yuri!’ She smiled as Yuri hugged her.

Moriko was a plump lady with graying hair. Yuri was actually missing her more than anyone in the mansion. His parents were never there. His sister was one of things he missed, but Moriko was what made him homesick.

Moriko and Yuri unpacked together in his big room. It was filled with posters of “Detective Conan”, “Naruto”, “One Piece”, “InuYasha” and his celebrity idol, Oguri Shun. (And a few posters of Megan Fox under his bed.)
‘You should really pull down these horrid posters and plaster them with your exam schedules.’ Moriko said.
‘I like them.’ Yuri said stubbornly.
‘You should like your exam schedules too.’ Moriko said, folding up the clean clothes and putting them away.

Yuri laughed guiltily. Suddenly, a weird smell reached his nose.
‘Moriko-san… Is there a dead rat or animal around here…?’ He asked.
‘Why would there, Yuri?’ Moriko laughed.
‘Hmm. Then, what smell is that?’ He asked, rubbing his nose. ‘It smells horrible.’
‘You must be tired, dear. Go on, I’ll leave the room.’

Yuri nodded. He walked to the bathroom to bathe.

He tucked himself into bed without dinner. He didn’t feel hungry. Somehow, the smell made him loose his appetite.

The smell was still very strong. Smell of corpse or a rotting animal. He covered his nose with his blanket, but it didn’t help. He shut his eyes and tried to sleep.

He did fall asleep. Something told him to.

His alarm went off at 7 o’clock. Just like usual. He sat up and stretched. He rubbed his tired eyes and looked at his posters. Something was wrong with one of his Oguri posters.

He blinked his eyes, only to see a red mark etched onto Oguri’s face.

Help Me!

Yuri’s eyes widened in shock. He stood up on his bed and examined the red words. They smelt like rust… It was dried blood.

He let out a yell and fell back onto his bed. He stepped off his bed, only to step onto a cold, wet cylinder. He looked down and saw a bloody, wrinkly arm, with a bone jutting out from the end. He screamed. He ran out off his room in fright.
‘Oh god… Oh god… I’m dreaming… Dreaming… Just dreaming!’ He gasped. He pinched himself, and it hurt badly. ‘I’m not... I’m not dreaming!!!!!’
